Austreme Director of Risk and Compliance – Terence Chau, to speak at the APAC Financial Coalition Australia Forum, organized by the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC), in November, 2022.
Formed in 1999, the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) is an international NGO working in more than 120 countries to support the global community with the tools, training and technology to create a safer world for children. ICMEC’s mission is to empower the global search for children who are missing, and work to protect children from going missing by providing resources for governments, law enforcement, NGOs, and families on prevention as well as the appropriate actions to take in the event a child does go missing.
ICMEC regularly collaborates with leading technology companies and the financial industry to identify and develop new global solutions that protect children from sexual abuse, exploitation, and the risk of going missing. Key technological partnerships also help to understand the risks of commercial child sexual abuse and exploitation in an online environment, as well as develop more effective and efficient tools to detect, report, and prevent such transactions from occurring in the first place. ICMEC advocates for changes in laws, treaties, and systems to protect children worldwide.
On behalf of Austreme, Terence will share his expertise in transaction laundering, and how analysing transaction data combined with results from effective merchant due diligence can together provide insight towards detecting commercial activities potentially involving online child exploitations.
